Predictable and optimised braking challenge

Summary

Future RailwayFutureRailway launched a 100% funded £4m SBRI competition on Predictable and optimised braking for rail vehicles on Thursday, 16 October 2014

The competition will include two phases, with successful applicants being funded to carry out an initial feasibility study - to investigate the technical and commercial viability of their proposed solutions. The most promising of these will then be funded to further develop and ultimately demonstrate the braking system.

The competition will be judged by a panel of industry experts including representatives from rolling stock manufacturers such as Siemens and Hitachi.

A briefing event will be held on Monday, 10 November in London for interested suppliers. The event will set out the challenge and competition scope in detail and provide a networking opportunity. Applications must be submitted by 9.00am on Thursday, 18 December 2014
